Jeannette Brossart
4425 Bracada Drive
Durham,NC 27745
919-384-0734
www.mothernaturemosaics.com
Info@mothernaturemosaics.com
OCAC Grant Selection Committee:
I am thrilled to be writing to you again in anticipation of growing my partnership with the
Orange County community through a continued relationship with Kidzu Children's
Museum. After developing and facilitating the outreach mosaic program successfully for
three years, I believe we are ready to dream even bigger. Working closely with Melanie
Hatz-Levinson, Curator of Exhibits, the next step in developing an artist in residence
program is essential for propelling the impact of the museum's long term community
outreach goals forward. -
In this age, artist means creative thinker and doer. It is not confined to traditional
mediums and processes. Teaching children to think creatively enhances every aspect of
their growth, and enables them for an ever changing future. Combining curriculum ideals
strengthens the understanding and connections that fresh young minds thrive upon.
Providing opportunities to experience common concepts in new ways is progress. Doing
so in a manner that is thought provoking, well organized, timely, and exciting is the
challenge.
I believe that Kidzu Children's Museum has the potential and desire to give this to the
Orange County community. In this transitional time for the museum, programming must
move forward as building and construction plans move forward. It must work together to
engage and excite the community while building(literally and figuratively)for the future
of the museum. Thank you for considering our grant request, and for all of the support of
our wonderful mosaic outreach program. I can attest that it has brought many children a
lasting, memorable, unique experience, while giving me joy in sharing my art, as well as
extending my understanding and experience as an art educator.
Sincerely,
Jeannette Brossart
