Exhibit A—Scope of Services—Fiscal Year 2013-14 <br /> Orange County Outside Agency Performance Agreement Certification <br /> Funded Amount: $ 5,000 <br /> Agency; Voices Together <br /> Agency Mission: Voices Together's mission is to give individuals with intellectual and developmental <br /> disabilities the tools and opportunity to say what they think,what they feel,what they need <br /> and 0 imatply sharp who thpv arp. <br /> Program: We are an Orange County-based non-profit that uses a specialized music therapy <br /> approach to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities speak, <br /> communicate and express their thoughts,feelings and needs.We do this through groups ij, <br /> Purpose: Our unique proprietary model addresses the growing needs of children,teens and adults <br /> with Autism and other developmental and intellectual disabilities to effectively learn and <br /> unlock vital skill areas. Some of the greatest challenges that people with developmental <br /> and intellectual disabilities tend to face are with communication and social/emotional <br /> awareness and the skills they need to function. This is essential, because with these skills <br /> thpv ran pYnrPSS their thnnnhts ntsatts anti wants npvpinninn these vital skills nivps is <br /> Outcomes: Because Voices Together already serves Orange County Public Schools special education <br /> classrooms on a limited basis, there is already data that shows the impact that the program <br /> has. The last two years,Voices Together has partnered with the Orange County Schools <br /> Exceptional Children's Division to conduct outcome evaluations of the program. The <br /> questions on the pre and post evaluation forms were developed by an evaluation specialist <br /> and were aligned with The Extended Common Core Curriculum Standards for Special <br /> Education for NC Public Schools. Our evaluation tracked 24 separate measures,and <br /> students showed improvements in every sinqle measure.
