<br />', Lews, Commissioners.

<br />report covering his ectivi ti es for this fisc el veer. He also submitted his
<br />19$0-1951 budget needs, which cell for ¢n enpropri ati on by the County of F1610.
<br />I~Sr. G. 0. Reitzel presented petition signed by several citizens of Tryon
<br />Street, reeue sting that said street be hardsurfaced to ¢ greeter width, from
<br />Hi ghv+ey 70A to the Hillsboro High School, a distance of two blocks.

<br />Public l7orks Commission to telce over r_nd maintain e road in the Gery Sylces Com-
<br />munity running from Ri ghwey No. 86 across the Orange Grove Road, back to end
<br />across tha Orange Grovo Roed to Highway ldo. 86, e dis ten ce or 1.2 miles.

<br />Ceder Grove Roed, e distance of approximately one mile.
<br />A netition was presented asking the State Highway and Public 17orks Commis-
<br />sion to grade, widen and blacktop e road in Cheeks Tovrnshi?, running from
<br />Buckhorn to the Old Highway South of Efland, a distance of 3.6 miles.
<br />lvo action was taken by the Board on any of the above petitions.

<br />It was then brought to the attention of the Hoard that the intersection
<br />of the road leading from Hidden Hills Development with J, S, Highway 15-501
<br />no ar Bolin Cre alt Bridge Best oT Chapel H111 was a very obstructed Intersection
<br />making the same very dangerous to the travelling public.
<br />After full discussion, upon motion of Cammissi oner Laws, duly seconded by
<br />Conmis si oner Ylilson, the follovring resolution was unanimously adopted:
<br />RESOLt ~•D, That the Board of Commis sione^s of Orange County do
<br />hereby teepee tfully request the North Caroline State Highway and
<br />Public fiorlcs Commissioner to, es soon as reesoneblg possible, cause
<br />to be made such clearing, grading, daylighting end other improve-
<br />ments es vrill m¢lce tl?e intersection es above described in e safe
<br />condition for persons and property using the said coed and highway.
<br />It is ordered that a certified cony of this resolution be i•urnished the
<br />North Carolina Stata Highvrey and Public Vlorlcs Commission.

<br />that P.id to Blind grant of Charlie tlhi to be incree sad from 543.00 per month to
<br />548.00 per month,
<br />Now, therefore, upon motion of Commissioner 17ilson, duly seconded by Com-
<br />missioner Laws, the foregoing incre ese of grant was unanimously approved,
<br />Lir s. Heor also toque sted that Senhronia Sykes be paid 529.00 per month
<br />from Aid to H1ind funds.
<br />Now, therefore, upon rnoti on of Commi ssionar Laws, seconded by Commissioner
<br />';131son, it is hereby ordered that Sephroni¢ Sykes be paid 529.00 per month as
<br />Aid to Hlind.
<br />Tdr. Sidney Green, Chairman of the Confederate 7.iemori el Library Board, and
<br />fitr s. Douglass Davis, Librarian, appe Bred and merle a very fine report of their
<br />work for the first nine months of this fiscal veer. Book circulation from July
<br />I, 1949 through Lierch 31, 19$0 being 22,802 es against 12,827 lest year.
<br />Dir. Green stated that the Library Board was asking for an annronrieti on of
<br />51000.00 from the County Tor the fiscal year 1950-19$1.
<br />A road pe ti tl on for 15/100 of e mile of the Old P.irnart Roed beginning at
<br />Hillsboro Street Extension in Chapel Hi11 Township, was approved and ordered
<br />sent to the State Highway and Public l7orks Commission for their consideration.
<br />There being no further business, upon motion, ad•~ourned to meet again
