Harvey, Planner III (919) 245 -2597 <br />Craig Benedict, Director (919) 245 -2592 <br />PURPOSE: To hold a public hearing on an owner - initiated general use district rezoning petition <br />in accordance with the provisions of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). <br />BACKGROUND: An application (see Attachment 1) has been submitted to rezone 2 parcels of <br />property totaling approximately 16.1 acres in area: <br />FROM: Rural Residential (R -1) <br />TO: Light Industrial (1 -1). <br />Pertinent facts of the application include the following: <br />Applicant: Maria Keizer Ronald Keizer <br />3604 Southern Drive same <br />Efland, North Carolina 27243 same <br />Owner: Daniel McDonald ETAL <br />Betty McDonald <br />2555 St James Drive SE <br />Southport, NC 28461 <br />The applicant has the properties under contract for purchase on the <br />condition they can be rezoned. Please refer to Attachment 1 for <br />additional information. <br />Rezoning Location: Both properties are east of 3604 Southern Drive, approximately 990 <br />feet east of the intersection of Southern Drive and Mt.
