To coordinate these two efforts, the Department on Aging is requesting the creation of a 0.80 <br />FTE Time - Limited Social Worker I position through the end of the NCDAAS contract on March <br />24, 2015 utilizing the combined Family Caregiver -to- Caregiver Peer Support and Master Aging <br />Plan funding. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Annual position costs will total $41,265. Salary and benefit costs for the <br />period October 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014 total $30,949. The NCDAAS' Peer -To -Peer grant will <br />reimburse up to $20,302 of position costs. Master Aging Plan funding, provided by Carol <br />Woods Retirement Community, will provide the balance of the position costs through the end of <br />the NCDAAS contract on March 24, 2015. FY2014 -15 personnel and operating expenses will <br />be included in the Department's budget request. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board accept the $25,000 in <br />grant funds for FY 2013 -14 from the NC Division of Aging and Adult Services; approve the time - <br />limited, bi- lingual 0.80 FTE Social Worker I position to work with Asian - American and immigrant <br />older adults and their families seeking services from the Department on Aging; and approve <br />Budget Amendment #1 -B. <br />
