Amendment Outline for Home <br />Occupation Standards <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Perdita Holtz, Planner III, 919 - 245 -2578 <br />Michael Harvey, Planner III, 919 -245- <br />2597 <br />Ashley Moncado, Planner II, 919 -245- <br />2589 <br />Craig Benedict, Planning Director, 919- <br />245- 2592 <br />PURPOSE: To consider and approve process components and schedule for four upcoming <br />government- initiated Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) /Comprehensive Plan text <br />amendments. <br />BACKGROUND: Four items are currently being prepared by Planning staff for upcoming <br />Quarterly Public Hearings. Amendment Outlines for these proposed amendments are attached <br />for the Board's consideration and approval: <br />1. Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development Ordinance Text Amendments for <br />Agricultural Support Enterprises. This item is anticipated for the February 2014 <br />Quarterly Public Hearing. <br />2. Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Text Amendment incorporating recent changes in <br />State law concerning the regulation of telecommunication facilities. This item is <br />anticipated for the November 25, 2013 Quarterly Public Hearing. <br />3. Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Text Amendment incorporating recent changes in <br />State law concerning procedural and notification requirements for the Board of <br />Adjustment. This item is anticipated for the November 25, 2013 Quarterly Public <br />Hearing. <br />4. Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Text Amendment amending Home Occupation <br />standards. This item is anticipated for the November 25, 2013 Quarterly Public Hearing. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: See Financial Impact included in each attached Amendment Outline. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board approve the attached <br />Amendment Outlines and direct staff to proceed accordingly. <br />
