Gen. Stat. 127A -116, <br />military leave, employment, retention and reemployment rights and benefits are <br />granted to qualified military servicemembers and veterans for certain periods of <br />service in the uniformed services. <br />15.2 No agent or employee of the County shall deny an individual initial employment, <br />reemployment, retention in employm5ent, promotion, or any benefit of <br />employment on the basis of their membership, application for membership, <br />performance of services, application for service, or obligation for service in the <br />uniformed services. <br />15.3 The County Manager will promulgate Administrative Rules and Regulations to <br />carry out this section of the Personnel Ordinance. <br />http: / /server l . co. orange.nc.us/ Pers / documents /mlitarVLeaveRulesandRe gulations. doc <br />16.0 Tuition Refund Program and Educational Leave <br />Full -time and part-time permanent employees may be eligible to obtain financial <br />assistance for the purpose of furthering their education and skills to enhance the delivery <br />of services toe€ County en residents_ <br />116.1 Employees who are not receiving educational assistance from other governmental <br />sources shall be eligible to apply for assistance under this program. The recipient <br />must be a County employee at the time of refund. <br />16.1.1 The Tuition Refund Program shall be administered by the County <br />Manager. <br />16.1.2 All courses shall be eligible when, in the opinion of the relevant <br />Department Head and the +A—Human Resources Director, the <br />course will either improve the employee's ability to do their present job <br />Article IV - Page 19 <br />
