7 <br /> 1 - Since 1924, the Cleveland County Fair (Shelby) has featured North Carolina's largest county <br /> 2 agricultural fair, and is a highlight of traditional activities held annually in Cleveland County. <br /> 3 - Over 165,000 patrons visited the 2012 Cleveland County Fair. <br /> 4 - While known primarily for this event, fairground also hosts a variety of other events throughout the <br /> 5 year. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Common Ground Country Fair <br /> 8 - Celebration of rural living - promotes organically-grown Maine produce, alternative lifestyles, <br /> 9 - Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association is sponsor and nation's oldest/largest state <br /> 10 organic organization. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 Existing Orange county festivals (photos) <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Farm to Fork <br /> 15 X Each June, the Farm to Fork Picnic at the Breeze Farm benefits new farmer training program. <br /> 16 X Hundreds of regional residents attend the event which highlights locally grown farm products, music, <br /> 17 and sustainable practices. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Central Piedmont Jr. Livestock Show <br /> 20 X The Central Piedmont Junior Livestock Show is held every April at the Central Carolina Holstein <br /> 21 Barn on Orange Grove Road. <br /> 22 X The event is focused on livestock competition and draws regional residents of all ages from 10 <br /> 23 counties. <br /> 24 X Show is in its 68th year. <br /> 25 Hogg Day <br /> 26 X Hogg Day attracts thousands of residents/visitors over two days for N.C. barbecue, arts/crafts and <br /> 27 vendors, food midway (no rides) and learn about local services. <br /> 28 X Most recently, added historic name "tweak" to commemorate James Hogg. <br /> 29 X Held in County's River Park in downtown Hillsborough on the 3rd Saturday in May.
