6 } <br /> Attachment 2 <br /> C2240-12/97 <br /> COMPUTER PROGRAMMER/ANALYST II <br /> GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK <br /> Performs difficult professional work involving the design, development,programming, <br /> implementation, documentation,training and maintenance of computer systems and <br /> programs; does related work as required. <br /> Work is performed under general supervision. <br /> TYPICAL TASKS: <br /> Defines potential applications in terms of electronic data processing systems, translates <br /> the application to computer language, checks it out and produces a finished program for <br /> production runs; <br /> Designs and lays out form of output reports; <br /> Writes more difficult and complex programs including subroutines,prepares flow charts <br /> and all required documentation; <br /> Modifies existing programs; <br /> Tests, corrects,updates and consolidates programs to assure efficient and economical <br /> operation; <br /> Reviews current non-computerized operations and makes recommendations as to the <br /> feasibility of these for adaptation to the computer and performs systems work in this <br /> connection; <br /> Meets and discusses problems and developments with user representatives; <br /> Trains user personnel in the operation of computer systems; <br /> Assists with the instruction,planning and organizing of work for subordinate employees; <br /> Performs related tasks as required. <br /> KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: <br /> Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices in the preparation of computer <br /> programs; thorough knowledge of the appropriate programming languages; thorough <br /> knowledge of modern techniques in systems analysis and design;through knowledge of <br /> the operation,use and capabilities of the installed computer and related equipment; <br /> thorough knowledge of principles of accounting and statistical procedures relative to <br /> computer applications; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships <br /> with information systems and user personnel; ability to follow complex oral and written <br /> instructions; ability to prepare technical reports and manuals. <br /> EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: <br /> Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an <br /> accredited college or university with major course work in computer science or related <br /> field and at least 3 years experience in computer programming and systems analyst work. <br />
