f <br /> 5 <br /> Attachment 2 <br /> C2238-1 2/97 <br /> COMPUTER PROGRAMMER/ANALYST I <br /> GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK: <br /> Performs intermediate professional work involving the design, development, <br /> programming, implementation, documentation,training and maintenance of computer <br /> systems and programs; does related work as required. <br /> Work is performed under regular supervision. <br /> TYPICAL TASKS: <br /> Writes new and modifies existing programs; <br /> Creates database files necessary to operate software; <br /> Installs, tests and debugs software; <br /> Trains users personnel in the operation of computer systems; <br /> Develops instructions, guidelines and manuals on the operation of the computer system; <br /> Provides enhancements to the system to improve performance and functionality; <br /> Provides ongoing maintenance and technical support; <br /> Evaluates performance of system. <br /> Performs related tasks as required. <br /> KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: <br /> General knowledge of principles and practices in the preparation of computer programs; <br /> general knowledge of the appropriate programming languages; general knowledge of <br /> modern techniques in design; general knowledge of the operation,uses and capabilities of <br /> the installed computer and related equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective <br /> working relationships with user personnel; ability to follow complex oral and written <br /> instructions; ability to prepare technical reports and manuals. <br /> EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: <br /> Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an <br /> accredited college or university with major course work in computer science or related <br /> field and at least 2 years experience in computer programming and systems analyst work. <br />
