We completed these notifications on <br /> Thursday,November 20, which allowed us to make a public announcement. <br /> Why did Piedmont EMC not inform the Orange County Commissioners on <br /> Wednesday,November 19 that a decision had been made? <br /> We felt an obligation to inform the affected property owners along the preferred route <br /> first. <br /> Why did Piedmont not delay the decision as requested by the Orange County <br /> Commissioners? <br /> We did not wish to prolong the anxiety voiced by residents along the other proposed <br /> routes. <br /> How long will the project take? <br /> Once construction begins, we estimate the project will take about nine months. We hope <br /> to have it completed and energized by the end of 1998. <br />
