UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA
Morris Campus Office of Student Activities 600 East 4th Street
Morris.MN 56267-2132
Office: 320-589-6080
ww",inorris.umn.edWserviees/.stad
Email:umnutact @morris.umn.edu
May 3, 2010
Jeannette Gardner
Gardner Arts Network
155 West 72"d Street, Suite 605
New York, NY 10023
Dear Jeannette:
Enclosed is the check for Soul Street Dance Company's appearance at UMM on
Saturday, May 1. The show was wonderful!!! Lots of young boys in the audience, which
does not often happen with our dance events. I overheard one parent phoning her
husband at intermission to say he should bring their son up for the second half of the
show. Even senior citizens came up to me at intermission/after the performance to say
how great they thought it was.
In addition to their great skill and artistry, the artists were some of the nicest people
we've worked with. They were flexible, professional, and personable. Lots of folks
stayed after the show for autographs and pictures and the dancers were very gracious,
though exhausted.
Our only disappointment was with the size of the audience, especially very few college
students. We knew this was a risk so late in the semester with finals looming and all of
the competing end-of-the-year events, but thought this particular event would still draw.
Live and learn—no more May events on the UMM Series.
N11any thanks for all of your Help in making the event a SLICUCSS!
Sincerely,
Sara Haugen
Program Advisor
