The ArtsCenter
Arts In Education Focus School Program
Artist Contact List
Specific planning for the residencies that will take place during the 2013-2014
school year at Central Elementary, New Hope Elementary and Efland-Cheeks
Elementary will take place beginning in August 2013. All students in grades K-5
at each of the three schools will participate in Arts-Based Learning Experiences
(ABLE) residencies. While the residency model will remain the same, details
need to be planned at the beginning of the school year to ensure the residencies
really cater to the specific learning needs of the students in each grade level.
Furthermore, grade levels participating in an ABLE residency will need to choose
a School Show to attend, which will serve as the focal point for the residency.
Once those decisions are made, The ArtsCenter's Arts In Education Coordinator
will work closely with classroom teachers to secure teaching artists and outline a
detailed plan for each residency. As a result, all of the teaching artists are not
known at this time; however, several artists that have worked in classrooms
through The ArtsCenter's Arts In Education program in the past will likely be
returning, so their resumes and contact information are included.
Jody Cassell
20 Streamview Court
Durham, NC 27713
919-338-8052
movingtolearn @nc.rr.com; www.
movingyoutolearn.com
Virginia Queen
97 Oak Leaf Lane
Chapel Hill, NC 27516
919-942-8202
vrqueenC@_gmail.com
Jane Bergman
319 Burris Place
Chapel Hill, NC 27516
919-933-9007
Jbergmanand7 ccD_yahoo.com
Helen Buiskool
200 Spring Valley Road
Carrboro, NC 27510
919-932-7778
Helen(a)-studio200.us
William Dawson
2009 Ira Road
Efland, NC 27243
901-219-0781
Wdawson790)hotmail.com
