Exhibit A—Scope of Services—Fiscal Year 2013-14 Orange County Outside Agency Performance Agreement Certification Funded Amount: $ 76,000 Agency: Dispute Settlement Center Agency Mission: To promote and bring about the peaceful settlement of disputes and prevent the escalation of conflict through mediation, conciliation, facilitation, and training. Program: Mediation for Orange County Citizens referred from Criminal District Court, and for families, neighbors and others self-referred; and for separating couples on a sliding scale basis. Purpose: To help Orange County residents resolve interpersonal disputes with the help of trained neutrals. In Orange County Criminal District Court, mediation keeps cases moving efficiently through the system while offering citizens opportunity for face-to-face problem solving which encourages more lasting resolutions. Other citizens may bring their disputes directly to the Center for resolution. Outcomes: We expect to work with 250 clients in community mediation. (This will be a portion of those who have called for help.)We project that in over 85%of mediations, clients will reach a mutually agreed upon resolution. We expect to work with 400 clients in Criminal District Court and Civil District Court, with an over 85% resolution rate for those mediating.
