Exhibit A—Scope of Services—Fiscal Year 2013-14 <br /> Orange County Outside Agency Performance Agreement Certification <br /> Funded Amount: $ 2,000 <br /> Agency: Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle (BBBST) <br /> Agency Mission: To provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring professionally supported <br /> one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. <br /> Program: The Big Buddy Mentoring Program pairs students at the University of North Carolina at <br /> Chapel Hill with at-risk children, ages 6-14 in Orange County. Big Buddy volunteers work <br /> with BBBST staff to help recruit, screen and provide activities for students and their Littles 0 <br /> Purpose: The Big Buddy mentoring program establishes strong relationships for at-risk children with <br /> caring, stable adult mentors to change the children's lives for the better, forever. We have <br /> the hard data to prove that our efforts help children stay in school, improve academic <br /> performance, aid their social development and avoid risky behaviors.
