Exhibit A—Scope of Services—Fiscal Year 2013-14 Orange County Outside Agency Performance Agreement Certification Funded Amount: $ 7,000 Agency: Historic Hillsborough Commission/Burwell School Historic Site Agency Mission: The mission of the Historic Hillsborough Commission is three-fold: to maintain and preserve the Burwell School Historic Site; to interpret the history of 19th century Hillsborough for the enrichment of the public: and to celebrate and oromote the culture and heritage of Program: A Celebration of Local History and Culture at the Burwell School Historic Site is an ongoing program of the Historic Hillsborough Commission. This program's mission is to interpret the history of 19th century Hillsborough and the Burwell School for the enrichmen6 Purpose: In FY2013-14, the program will improve access to educational information and increase awareness of cultural programming by developing new content for the Burwell School website. Second, the program will create a network of living descendants of the residents of the Burwell property to promote shared heritage and develop a lasting connection with the Burwell School Historic Site and Orange County. First, staff to develop website content which will provide visitors with educational and cultural content, making the history of the Burwell School accessible to Orange County residents and prospective visitors. The improved website content will serve as a home base for the connections made for the Burwell Homecoming event. As staff reach out to descendants and relatives of past residents of the site,they will use the website and social media pages as a staging area to build interest and foster relationships among prospective participants in the Burwell Homecoming event.
