Attachment E-2 <br /> Pilot Employee Incentive Programs Report <br /> 1. Background <br /> The Board of Commissioners has adopted a goal "to develop strategies which will promote <br /> more efficient County operations, which will ultimately result in financial savings." As one <br /> of the strategies to promote more efficient operations, the County has pursued the concept of <br /> employee incentives. <br /> In 1994-95,the County implemented two employee incentive programs on a two year pilot <br /> program basis. These are the: <br /> • Savings Count employee suggestion program to encourage, recognize and reward <br /> employee cost saving ideas and the <br /> • You Can Count On Us team achievement awards to recognize and celebrate effective <br /> teamwork and through this to promote the use of teams and the sharing of resources. <br /> 2. Savings Count-Brief Program Description <br /> Through the Savings Count program,an employee may: <br /> • Submit a cost savings suggestion or a suggestion related to an increase in productivity, <br /> improved efficiency in service delivery or increase in revenue. <br /> • Assure that a suggestion is systematically reviewed and considered <br /> • Make a suggestion related to any area of County operations. <br /> • For suggestions not related to the employee's job duties,receive a cash award based on <br /> five percent of the first year net annual cost savings or an award based on the <br /> suggestion's impact on productivity, efficiency and revenue. For a suggestion related to <br /> the employee's job duties,receive a non-monetary recognition award. <br /> 3. You Can Count On Us -Brief Program Description <br /> Through the You Can Count On Us program, a work team may: <br /> • Nominate itself for team recognition when it completes a clearly defined outcome which <br /> results in service improvement. <br /> • Receive the team achievement award when the outcome is achieved. <br /> 19 <br />
