Williford, 968-7713 <br /> Transmittal Letter <br /> THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS PROVIDED: <br /> (J)Purpose Q Action Requested Q Analysis <br /> 0 Summary (7)Recommendation <br /> PURPOSE: <br /> The purpose of this item is for the Board to review and set a public hearing on an ordinance entitled "An <br /> Ordinance Establishing a Moratorium on the Processing of Special and Conditional Use Permit <br /> Applications for Developments on Properties Within the Northern Study Area". <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Board of Aldermen on September 16, 1997, requested the Town Attorney to draft an ordinance to <br /> institute a development moratorium in the Northern Small Area Planning Area to expire on April 30, <br /> 1998. The Board further stipulated that the moratorium will apply to projects requiring applications for <br /> special use or conditional use permits only. Completed applications for special use or conditional use <br /> permits accepted prior to the effective date of the moratorium will continue to be processed by the staff. <br /> As a matter of information, special use permits are required for residential projects proposing from 5 to 12 <br /> dwelling units or lots, and conditional use permits are required for residential projects proposing more <br /> than 12 units or lots. Zoning permits required for projects proposing between 1 and 4 units or lots will <br /> be affected by the moratorium. <br /> As required by the Joint Planning Agreement, a copy of this ordinance was sent on October 3, 1997 to <br /> Orange County for their review and approval(see the attached transmittal letter). <br />
