37 <br /> PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDMENT <br /> ORDINANCE: Zoning Ordinance <br /> REFERENCE: Article 22 Definitions <br /> ORIGIN OF AMENDMENT: X Staff Planning Board <br /> X BOCC Public <br /> Other: <br /> Expected Public Hearing Date: November 24, 1997 <br /> Purpose of Amendment: The proposed change below is intended to promote greater consistency with <br /> the Comprehensive Plan and the Subdivision Regulation definitions. <br /> Background: This amendment is needed because of the proposed changes to Section 2.6 - <br /> TRANSPORTATION of the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> Existing and proposed ordinance text: (strike through text to be deleted and underlined text to be <br /> inserted) <br /> Street-A way for vehicular traffic whether designated as a street,highway,thoroughfare, <br /> parkway,throughway, freeway,road, avenue,boulevard, lane,place or however otherwise <br /> designated. <br /> Street,Alley-Alley is a miner.local way used primarily for vehicular access to the rear or <br /> side of properties otherwise abutting a street at the front, and which is not intended for <br /> general circulation. <br /> Street,Arterial- , <br /> kipsper-day. For-pwpeses ef these r-egul-es-ions suph stmets inelude these so designated in <br /> A street connecting widely separated areas <br /> and designed to carry a large volume of traffic which may be fast,heavy or both. Arterial <br /> streets are sometimes referred to as "major thoroughfares", "freeways", "expressway <br /> etc., and are usually numbered State or Federal Highways. <br /> Street, Collector- , <br /> street which carries traffic from minor streets to the major systems of arterial streets, <br /> including the principal entrance streets of residential developments. Collector streets may <br /> also be referred to as "connector" or "feeder" streets. <br />
