A <br /> summary of each item proposed for public hearing is provided below. The <br /> proposed legal advertisement, the text of proposed ordinance amendments, and <br /> other background information are attached. <br /> SPECIAL USE PERMITS <br /> 1. SUP(A)-4-97 Local Government Employees Credit Union <br /> Request for a Special Use Permit to construct a 4800 square-foot credit <br /> union facility with drive-through window on 2.07 acres at the southwest <br /> corner of Old NC 86 and Oakdale Drive (4.44.B.22,23) The property is <br /> located in the I-40/Old NC 86 Economic Development District. <br /> Development projects in an Economic Development District (EDD) which <br /> do not meet all standards specified in the EDD Design Manual may be <br /> approved by the Board of Commissioners as a Special Use. The applicant <br /> is requesting Special Use Permit approval because the proposed <br /> development project does not meet all of the standards specified in the EDD <br /> Design Manual, including the requirement for a 100--foot buffer around the <br /> perimeter of the Economic Development District, and the requirement that <br /> parking areas be located to the rear of the building. <br />
