A <br /> 41 <br /> DRAFT OF RESOLUTION ADOPTED i3y Th3E CHAPEL SII.L TOWN COUNCIL <br /> ON SEPTEMBER 22,1997: SUWZCT TO REVISION BY TEE TOWN COUNCIL <br /> A RESOLUTION REGARDING PROTECTING THE QUALITY OF WATER <br /> IN THE CANE CREEK RESERVOIR(97-9-22AR 9) <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapd Hill that the Council adopts the <br /> fovovvnW comments on protecting the quality of water w the Cam Creek reservoir, wt ich is the <br /> con+uattws largest water supply source: <br /> • The Council generally concurs with the provisional recommendations presented to the Council <br /> by OWASA in August, 1997. <br /> • The Council believes that the five-acre minimum may offer a lugher level of water quality <br /> protection_ <br /> • The Council also requests that Orange County rigorously enforce regulations for reserve <br /> field areas in the case of septic tank far'hures. <br /> • The Council concurs that overall impervious surface limits should remain at six percent <br /> for residewW development and twdve percent for non-residential developments. <br /> • The Council authorizes the Mayor to submit this resolution to the Carrboro Board of <br /> Aldermen and OWASA Board with a request to receive a copy of their recoaumeadations. <br /> • The Council authorizes the Mayor to submit this resolution to the Orange and Alamaace <br /> County Cortmrissiorr«s and/or to work with OWASA and Town of Cantoro representatives <br /> to submit joint cotes to the County Boards of Comrnissioners rcflecsing points of <br /> aff . <br /> This the 22'A day of September, 1997. <br /> C-II <br /> L00� VSV40 19tH 996 M Iva 90:9t 311L Ls/-Fr/-6T- <br />
