Sabsequent to the Assembly of Governments meeting,the Managers of Orange County,Chapel Hill, mW Carrboro presented a report to their respective governing boards which included a reesnseendation that the Master Recreation&Parks Plan be modified to be a joint long-range capital facility plan for the three jurisdictions. Related to this, the Board of Commissioners asked staff to review lira current dedication/payment-in-lien provisions to determine if the dedication requirements wars snl5cient to generate needed parkland. 1 Given dw above events and associated recommendations,a Plan of Action has been prepared through which to implement the goals of updating the Master Recreation & Parks Plan and reviewing the current dedieadon/payment in-lieu provisions. RESOURCE REQUIREMENTS Completion of this goal would involve the following commitment of existing County staff resources: Planning Director Recreation&Parks Director Planner IEUCurrent Planning Supervisor GIS Project Coordinator Given the "joint" nature of the Master Plan update, the commitment of staff resources from the Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro will be sought, including staff from the Town's Planning, and Recreation and Parks Departments. Staff will compile data from time sheets concerning staff hours expended and costs associated with completion of this goal. Monthly reports will be distributed to County Manager, Advisory Boards, and Board of Commissioners outlining monthly/cumulative staff hours and costs assigned to this project.
