067 <br /> A POLL OF <br /> CEDAR GROVE PROPERTY OWNERS <br /> conducted by the <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br /> SHOULD THE CEDAR GROVE CROSSROADS AREA BE LISTED <br /> ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES? <br /> Background. <br /> During an inventory of Orange County historical architecture conducted during 1992-1993, Cedar <br /> Grove Crossroads was identified as potentially eligible for the National Register of Historic Places <br /> as a Rural Historic District. In July 1993, Cedar Grove was placed on the National Register Study <br /> List by the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources, which is the first step toward <br /> placement on the National Register. In 1995, a planning intern from the Department of City and <br /> Regional Planning at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Shannon Sexton, prepared a <br /> draft National Register nomination document as a student project. In October 1996, the Historic <br /> Preservation Commission provided information to Cedar Grove property owners about the <br /> National Register.
