The proposal <br /> asks for$5,670 to fund expansion of a proposed Children's Visioning Effort to <br /> 7th and 11th-grade student in both school systems. <br /> The Children's Visioning Effort attempts to carry the concepts of creating a <br /> countywide vision for the future to the classroom. Efforts are currently underway <br /> with SOCF Task Force members, staff and representatives from the schools for a <br /> pilot community-visioning session with 5th-graders this fall. The Task Force <br /> would like to expand the idea of gathering information from students and learning <br /> about their perspective of Orange County's quality of life by planning a design <br /> charette and workshop for the spring with 7th and 11 th-grade classes. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends approval of submission of the grant application <br /> on behalf of the Shaping Orange County's Future project. <br />
