Longer term, <br /> the Town of Hillsborough's Water Distribution System Plan calls for the extension of <br /> the 12-inch water main from the interchange due east to N.C. Highway 86. The Plan <br /> called for construction of a 500,000 gallon elevated water storage tank on the western <br /> border of the District. The Town was able to purchase proper at a higher elevation <br /> west of the District for the tank construction. Construction of the tank began in <br /> Tan____uary 1997. and should be completed by the end of 1997 It will hold 750.000 <br /> izallons, - <br /> Sewage Disposal. The Town of Hillsborough is extending an 18-inch gravity sewer <br /> line along Cates Creek to near the north side of I-85. in additien to a 12 <br /> i-n-e Iff-s4-4-sh-eot-along-motes Creek, a A 12-inch gravity sewer line is being-ha&-b= <br /> extended up a tributary of Cates Creek to serve the Wildwood Subdivision. Seheduled <br /> .service to the District can be provided by eK4easien of <br /> extending a 12-inch gravity sewer line from the terminus of the 18" line on the north <br /> side of I-85, under I-85 and stebeet along Cates Creek to its intersection with Old N.C. <br /> Highway 86. <br /> Extending the 12-inch gravity sewer main along Cates Creek, the northern boundary of <br /> the District, to its intersection with Old N.C. Highway 86 would cost approximately <br /> $584,374 $670.OQQ. This cost includes 8,500 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron gravity <br /> sewer line at W per linear foot plus contingencies and engineering costs(25%). <br />
