The work group has requested that each governing board review and discuss <br /> the proposed agreement,with a December 1, 1997 deadline for satisfactory resolution of all open <br /> matters. This document was distributed last week. The Board may wish to discuss this latest draft <br /> and provide any direction or needed follow up actions to staff. Mr. Jessup is expected to be <br /> available to answer any questions the Board may have about:this document. <br /> At their June 30, 1997 meeting,the Board approved the conceptual framework for an integrated <br /> solid waste management plan that was to be prepared by July 1, 1997, in accordance with State law. <br /> This plan has now been submitted to the State -a copy of the entire plan has been provided for each <br /> Commissioner. Chapel Hill solid waste management staff,who took the lead role in preparing the <br /> solid waste plans of the County and Towns, are expected to be available at this work session to <br /> answer any questions about the plan. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board discuss these solid waste <br /> matters and provide direction to staff, as needed. <br />
