3 <br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> A public hearing will be held in the Superior Courtroom of the New Orange County Courthouse, <br /> 106 E. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, North Carolina, on Monday, August 25, 1997 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> for the purpose of giving all interested citizens an opportunity to speak for or against the following <br /> items: <br /> CLASS A SPECIAL USE PERMIT <br /> 1. SUP(A)4-97 State Employees' Credit Union <br /> The property is located on the southwest corner of Old Hillsborough-Chapel Hill Road and <br /> Oakdale Drive, in Hillsborough Township. It contains 2.07 acres and is identified as Lots <br /> 22 and 23, Tax Map 44, Block B, in Hillsborough Township. The property is in the <br /> Economic Development District zoning district. The applicant is requesting a Class A <br /> Special Use Permit to construct a 4,900 square-foot credit union facility, including drive- <br /> thru window. The proposal must receive approval of a Special Use Permit by the Board of <br /> Commissioners because not all of the standards specified in the EDD Design Manual are <br /> met, including, but not limited to, the requirement for a 100-foot buffer around the <br /> perimeter of the Economic Development District, and the requirement that parking areas be <br /> located to the rear of the building. <br /> ORANGE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE E TEXT AMENDMENTS <br /> 1 Amend ARTICLE 4.3 PERMITTED USES to: include Extraction of Earth Products as a <br /> Class A Special Use in the Agricultural Services zoning district; include Agricultural <br /> Services as a permitted use in the GC4 General Commercial zoning district; include <br /> Animal Hospitals and Veterinarians as permitted uses in the Agricultural Services zoning <br /> district; and eliminate: Storage of Goods, Outdoor; Storage and Warehousing, Inside <br /> Building; and Art Studio from the list of uses permitted in the Agricultural Services zoning <br /> district. <br /> 2. Amend ARTICLE 8.8.7 GOLF COURSES to specify approval procedures applicable to <br /> the modification to or expansion of existing golf courses. <br /> 3. Amend ARTICLE 22 DEFINITIONS to revise the definition of "Agricultural Services" <br /> and add a definition of"Riding Stable". <br /> HISTORIC LANDMARKS DESIGNATION PROG M <br /> 1 . Adopt a program to designate Historic Landmarks in Orange County. The Ordinance <br /> Creating the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) of Orange County, adopted in <br /> April, 1991, authorizes the HPC to recommend to the County Commissioners individual <br />
