Fikes <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBERS: --ext. 2490 <br /> Hillsborough 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill 9684501 <br /> Durham 688-7331 <br /> Mebane 227-2031 <br /> PURPOSE: <br /> To approve the Development Agreement with InterFaith Council for Social Service for HOME <br /> funding available for the Project HomeStart transitional housing project. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> In 1995, the Orange County HOME Consortium designated $50,000 in HOME funds to InterFaith <br /> Council for Social Service to assist with the development of Project HomeStart. Project HomeStart <br /> is a transitional housing project which is being developed by the InterFaith Council for Social <br /> Service and the Orange/Durham Coalition for Battered Women. The County is providing a long <br /> term lease for the project site on Homestead Road and construction has begun on this property. <br /> The County is the lead administrative entity for the Orange County HOME Consortium and, thus, <br /> would enter into the agreement with the InterFaith Council on behalf of the Consortium. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): <br /> The Manager recommends approving the Development Agreement with InterFaith Council and <br /> authorizing the Chair to execute the Development Agreement with this agency on behalf of the <br /> Orange County HOME Consortium upon the County Attorney's review and approval. <br />
