This group has worked
diligently to establish a firm foundation for Orange County's
voluntary farmland preservation program, which has designated
three farms totaling 1,038 acres as Voluntary Agricultural Districts.
Pearson Stewart has enjoyed a distinguished career as a land planner
and conservationist. As a founding member of the Triangle Land
Conservancy, Pearson has been the ADAB member uniquely qualified
to recognize the importance of conservation easements and other
voluntary measures to preserve Orange County's prime
agricultural lands and rural landscapes. He is to be commended for
his expertise and leadership as an Orange County volunteer.
RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends approval of the Resolution of
Appreciation for Pearson Stewart for his service on the Orange
County Agricultural Districts Advisory Board.
