Attachment 6 20 <br /> Classification and Pay Plan Amendments <br /> To amend the Orange County Classification and Pay Plan as provided below: <br /> 1. Change the salary grade of: <br /> • Solid Waste Center Operator from Salary Grade 56 ($16,315 - $25,943) to Salary <br /> Grade 57 ($17,132 - $27,242). <br /> With this change,the lowest salary grade in use for permanent County positions <br /> will be Salary Grade 57 and the minimum salary for a permanent employee will <br /> be $8.24 an hour. <br /> 2. Establish the class of: <br /> • Electrician at Salary Grade 64 ($24,106 - $38,327). <br /> This position is part of the Fiscal Year 1997-98 budget and will provide a licensed <br /> electrician in Public Works for the installation,maintenance and repair of <br /> electrical systems. <br /> 3. Change the class title and salary grade of: <br /> • Hazmat/Training Coordinator at Salary Grade 62($21,866 - $34,767)to <br /> Emergency Management Training Coordinator at Salary Grade 65 <br /> ($25,312 - $40,244). <br /> The Fiscal Year 1997-98 budget provides for an increase in hours for the existing <br /> Hazmat/Training Coordinator in Emergency Management and the addition of <br /> responsibility to that position for the coordination of all mandated training for <br /> County paramedics,basic life support staff and fire-fighters, and to ensure that all <br /> such personnel are trained Occupational Safety and Health Administration <br /> (OSHA)Bloodborne Pathogens and Hazardous Materials regulations, among <br /> others. <br /> 4. Delete the following classes: <br /> • Assistant Tax Supervisor <br /> • Assistant Telecommunications Supervisor <br /> • Audio Visual Technician <br /> • Clerk Typist III <br /> • Data Entry Clerk <br /> • Library Reference Assistant <br /> There is no longer a need to maintain these classes as part of the Orange County <br /> Classification and Pay Plan. <br /> f:\pers\elgin\c&p-plan\budwk97.doc <br /> June 25, 1997 <br />
