COPS FAST Program <br /> Grant Project Ordinance 6 <br /> Project Number 11-714 <br /> Be it ordained by the Orange County Board of County Commissioners that pursuant to Section 13.2 of <br /> Chapter 159 of the General Statutes of North Carolina,the following grant project is hereby adopted. <br /> Section 1. The project authorized is the COPS FAST Program as awarded to the Orange County <br /> Sheriff s Department by the U.S. Department of Justice, Community Oriented Policing Services. The three <br /> year grant provides funding to enhance community oriented police efforts in jurisdictions with populations <br /> of less than 50,000. <br /> Section 2. Under the terms of the agreement, Orange County will administer the grant as fiscal agent. <br /> The officers of the County are hereby directed to proceed with the grant project within the grant document, <br /> the rules and regulations of the U.S. Department of Justice, Community Oriented Policing Services . <br /> Section 3. The following revenue is anticipated to be available to complete this project: <br /> Intergovernmental(1995-96) $25,108 <br /> Intergovernmental(1996-97) $25,108 <br /> Intergovernmental(1997-98) $26,016 <br /> Total Intergovernmental $76,232 <br /> Section 4. Approximately seventy five percent of the total cost of this project is funded by grant funds. <br /> The required match for this grant is included in the Sheriffs Department General Fund operating budget. <br /> Future years' allocations are subject to Board of County Commissioners annual appropriations. <br /> General Fund Operating Match (1995-96) $8,369 <br /> General Fund Operating Match (1996-97) $9,750 <br /> General Fund Operating Match (1997-98) $10,904 <br /> Total General Fund Match $29,023 <br /> Section 5. The following amount is appropriated for this project: <br /> Public Safety-COPSFAST $105,255 <br />
