The second phase of the comprehensive
approach to hazardous materials preparedness and response, is the local
government's ability to communicate electronically with the North
Carolina Division of Emergency Management. To accomplish this, the State
is providing grants for all local Emergency Management offices to buy computers
and software, according to state specifications that will allow this communication.
Recommendation
The Manager recommends acceptance by signature of the grant award, as received
from the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management.
