16 <br /> WX KELLOGG - Gen%l,Ml Requirements <br /> FOUNDATION <br /> To help people help themselves <br /> The following general requirements also apply to Kellogg Foundation grants: <br /> 1. Successive payments under this commitment will be contingent upon(a)receipt of an annual report with a <br /> projection of plans and a line-item budget for the succeeding year, and(b)a demonstration to the Foundation of <br /> satisfactory progress in relation to the stated objectives of the project during the preceding year. <br /> 2. Any unexpended cash funds remaining from the Foundation payment at the close of each project year will be <br /> deducted from the payment for each successive year.The Foundation will consider requests,included in <br /> subsequent annual budgets,to use these unexpended funds for purposes consistent with the original goals of <br /> this project. <br /> 3. Increases in salaries and in fringe benefits beyond the level approved in the budget proposal are to be <br /> determined and provided by your institution from sources other than Kellogg Foundation funds as part of the <br /> financial take-over in subsequent years. It is understood that any increases shown in the salary and fringe benefit <br /> line item of the budget reflect additional staff and staff time rather than salary increments. <br /> 4. Your institution agrees to disseminate through established channels of communication,or by special reports, <br /> pertinent information relating to the results, findings,or methods developed through this commitment. <br /> 5. No publications,instructional modules,or other products developed in connection with this project will provide <br /> royalties or otherwise insure to the personal benefit of individuals connected with this activity. <br /> 6. If funds are included in this commitment for fellowships,please note that the Foundation has a special interest in <br /> these individual awards.We would like to establish personal contact with the Fellows chosen under projects we <br /> are assisting. Mr. Robert DeVries, Program Director,will be writing to you for your assistance in providing <br /> information about these Fellows so that we can issue them a Fellowship Certificate at the completion of their <br /> studies. Persons may be referred to by you as Kellogg Fellows if they receive Kellogg Foundation funds for a <br /> graduate learning experience(actual study program)of at least a semester or summer session.We will <br /> appreciate your assistance in providing this information to Mr. DeVries. <br /> 7. If any funds from this commitment are to be used as awards to individuals,these awards are to be administered <br /> by your institution,in accordance with your established policies with resulting awards and payments being on an <br /> objective and nondiscriminatory basis.The Kellogg Foundation will participate in no way in the selection of the <br /> recipients of such awards or grants,nor in the making of payments to such individuals. <br /> Box 25 8/17/'s4 <br />
