The Council adopt the following resolution that would authorize the Manager to develop <br /> changes to the existing development ordinance that would extend the solid waste plan <br /> requirement to all eonsauetion projects valued at over 550,000, and authorize the Manager <br /> and staff to work with other jurisdictions in Orange County to develop solid wash plan <br /> ordinances that are similar to that adopted by the Town of Chapel Hill to enable ease of <br /> enforcement and consistency for builders and regulators. <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIMNG THE MANAGER TO START THE PROCESS TO <br /> AMEND CHAPEL Hu.L•S SOLID WASTE PLAN REQUIRES AND TO WORK <br /> WITH OTHER JURISDICTIONS TO ESTABLISH SIN GLAR REGULATIONS <br /> (97-&23/R-16) <br /> WHEREAS,the construction and demolition disposal area of the Orange Regional Landfill will <br /> be full within one and one-half years,and <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the Town of Chapel M11 has adopted ambitious waste reductions <br /> gam, <br /> 1. NOW BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the <br /> Manager is authorized to develop changes to the existing development ordinance that would <br /> extend the solid waste plan requirement to all construction projects valued at over$50,000, <br /> and to work with other jurisdictions in Orange County to develop solid waste plan ordinances <br /> that are similar to-that adopted by the Town of Chapel Hill to enable can of enforcement and <br /> consistency for builders and regulators. <br /> This is the 23"day of June, 1997. <br />
