No <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> PAM JONES, ext. 2650 <br /> Lease <br /> Telephone Number- <br /> Hillsborough 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill 967-9251 <br /> Mebane 227-2031 <br /> Durham 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider renewing a lease for Senior Center space at the ArtsCenter. <br /> BACKGROUND: Since 1987 the County has maintained a Senior Center at the <br /> ArtsCenter in Carrboro. Highlights of the renewal terms negotiated with the ArtsCenter <br /> are as follows: <br /> • Term: Three years; option for additional two years; <br /> • Amount of space to be leased: 2,122 square feet; <br /> • Lease amount year one through three to be $16,976.04 ($8/s.f.); <br /> • ArtsCenter will provide all maintenance and cleaning, except floor maintenance of <br /> vinyl tiled areas, which the County shall strip, wax and buff quarterly. <br /> The new lease rate reflects an annual increase of $2,844, however, this is the first <br /> increase requested since 1989. The funds to support the lease are budgeted in the <br /> Department on Aging operations budget. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board approve the lease <br /> renewal and authorize the Chair to sign on behalf of the Board. <br />
