To approve the Home and Community Care Block Grant Funding Plan. <br /> BACKGROUND: The State Department of Human Resources established the Home and <br /> Community Care Block Grant which became effective July 1, 1992. The grant did not create new <br /> funding streams,but combined funds appropriated to the Department on Aging, Department of Social <br /> Services, and Joint Orange Chatham Community Action Agency to administer programs for senior <br /> citizens. <br /> The block grant requires the Board of Commissioners to approve the recommended funding plan. <br /> The recommended funding plan for the 1997-98 fiscal year is $296,095. This amount is $8,085 less <br /> than 1996-97 grant amount of$304,180. The Home and Community Care Advisory Board reviewed <br /> the plan on May 28, 1997. The Funding Plan is attached. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the 1997-98 Home <br /> and Community Care Block Grant Funding Plan and authorize Chair to sign grant documents. <br />
