3 <br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> A public hearing will be held in the Superior Courtroom of the New Orange County Courthouse, <br /> 106 E. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough,North Carolina, on Tuesday, May 27, 1997 at 7:30 p.m. for <br /> the purpose of giving all interested citizens an opportunity to speak for or against the following <br /> items: <br /> CLASS A SPECIAL USE PERMIT <br /> 1. SUP(A)-2-97 Local Government Employees Credit Union <br /> The property is located on the southwest corner of Old Hillsborough-Chapel Hill Road and <br /> Oakdale Drive, in Hillsborough Township. It contains 2.07 acres and is identified as Lots <br /> 22 and 23, Tax Map 44, Block B, in Hillsborough Township. The property is in the <br /> Economic Development District zoning district. The applicants are requesting a Class A <br /> Special Use Permit to construct a 4,837 square-foot credit union facility, including drive- <br /> thru window. Development projects in the Economic Development District (EDD) which <br /> do not meet all standards specified in the EDD Design Manual may be approved by the <br /> Board of Commissioners as a Special Use. The applicant is requesting Special Use Permit <br /> approval because the proposed development project does not meet all of the standards <br /> specified in the EDD Design Manual, including, but not limited to, the requirement for a <br /> 100--foot buffer around the perimeter of the Economic Development District, and the <br /> requirement that parking areas be located to the rear of the building. <br /> ORANGE COUNTY ZONING ATLAS AMENDMENTS <br /> 1. Z-3-97 Ruth Cook Woods <br /> Revise the Orange County Zoning Atlas to rezone 7.83 acres owned by Ruth Cook Woods <br /> from R-1 Rural Residential (minimum lot size 40,000 square feet, or .92 acres) to R-4 <br /> Residential (minimum lot size 10,000 square feet, or .23 acres). The property is located at <br /> the end of Skogen Lane on the west side of New NC Highway 86 and is known as Lot 25, <br /> Tax Map 45, in Hillsborough Township. The property is designated as Ten-Year Transition <br /> in the Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> 2. Z-4-97 T.H.Bradley <br /> Revise the Orange County Zoning Atlas to rezone 6.2 acres of a 37-acre tract owned by <br /> Thomas H. and Louise Bradley from R-1 Rural Residential to EC5 - Existing Commercial. <br /> The property is located at 5419 US 70 in the Efland Community between Richmond Road <br /> and Frazier Road, and is known as Lot 28, Tax Map 45, in Cheeks Township. The <br /> property is designated as Ten-Year Transition Area in the Land Use Element of the <br /> Comprehensive Plan. An existing business, T.H. Bradley Grading and Septic Tank Service <br />
