A <br /> summary of each item proposed for public hearing is provided below. The <br /> proposed legal advertisement, the text of proposed ordinance amendments, and <br /> other background information are attached. <br /> SPECIAL USE PERMITS <br /> 1. SUP(A)-4-97 Local Government Employees Credit Union <br /> Request for a Special Use Permit to construct a 4800 square-foot credit <br /> union facility with drive-through window on 2.07 acres at the southwest <br /> corner of Old NC 86 and Oakdale Drive (4.44.B.22,23) The property is <br /> located in the Economic Development District. Development projects in the <br /> Economic Development District (EDD) which do not meet all standards <br /> specified in the EDD Design Manual may be approved by the Board of <br /> Commissioners as a Special Use. The applicant is requesting Special Use <br /> Permit approval because the proposed development project does not meet all <br /> of the standards specified in the EDD Design Manual, including the <br /> requirement for a 100--foot buffer around the perimeter of the Economic <br /> Development District, and the requirement that parking areas be located to <br /> the rear of the building. <br />
