4 <br /> ATTACHMENT II <br /> ORANGE COUNTY GOVERNMENT WEEK <br /> April 13-19, 1997 <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> WHEREAS, April 13-19, 1997, is National County Government Week and <br /> Orange County is proud of its key role in the governmental <br /> partnership as the local provider and facilitator of important services <br /> for the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County is committed to enhancing ways for citizens to learn <br /> more about and have input in local decisions; and <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County delivers key services that many citizens rely on daily <br /> - such as restaurant inspections,jail operations,vaccinations and <br /> immunizations, emergency management,ambulance services,job <br /> training and related support services,child health and protection, <br /> aging programs,drug and alcohol treatment and rehabilitation, <br /> collection of child support monies, filing of property deeds,waste <br /> reduction and disposal,economic development strategies, land use <br /> and tax mapping; and <br /> WHEREAS, Given our involvement in these key services and our close proximity <br /> to those we serve,Orange County is well positioned to further <br /> strengthen the relationships between government and its citizenry; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County is committed to building a stronger partnership with <br /> its citizens in defining community problems and solutions through <br /> such efforts as strategic planning and local focus groups. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, We,the ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, <br /> do hereby proclaim the week of April 13-19, 1997, as Orange <br /> County Government Week, and further encourage all citizens to <br /> become familiar with the services provided by Orange County <br /> government. <br /> This the 1st day of April, 1997. <br /> William Crowther, Chair <br />
