go
III Techoo/oyy•1008Yitie//•SelatiooS- f- 6 1997
March 3, 1997
DISTRIBUTED
Commissioner William Crowther 5
Chair-County Commissioners
Orange County Offices
PO Box 8181
Hillsborough,NC 27278
Dear Commissioner Crowther:
Hancor,Inc. (Hancor)has been informed of a proposal to tie additional residential users into the two inch
(2")forced main sanitary sewer line Hancor currently utilizes. This.line was installed by Hancor during
1993 when its manufacturing facility was expanded. It was our understanding at that time, because the
line is a forced main,no residences along the line could tap in. -
While Hancor does want to remain a good corporate citizen,we must also guard our own interests. We do
not feel adding additional users to the subject line would parallel our long term commitments. Our plans
are for expansion of the North Carolina facility and we would not prefer to see actions taken currently that
would cause us added expense with future changes;especially since our original sewer installation
expense took into account our future growth.
We are willing to work with the County in every way possible, but do not feel adding residential users to
the line is appropriate. Please feel free to contact Bert Austin,Plant Manager,Matt Ankrom,Project
Engineer,or me with any questions you may have. Bert can be contacted at our Mebane branch, (919)
563 -5551. Matt and I can be contacted at our Findlay home office,(800)537-9520.
Sincerely,
ancor,
obert G.
VP Administratr- a&Government Affairs
C: Paul Thames, Orange County Engineer
Ted Abernathy, Orange County EDC
Matt Ankrom,Project Engineer
Bert Austin,Plant Manager
RGH/bh
Hancor, Inc. • P.O.
