Complete report of the Orange <br /> County Community Health Assessment . <br /> PURPOSE: <br /> To provide a report of the Community Health Assessment from the Orange <br /> County Healthy Carolinas Task Force, outline the next steps and <br /> expected outcomes of the task force work and entertain any comments and <br /> questions the Board of Commission members may have. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Board of Commissioners appointed the Healthy Carolinians Task Force <br /> based on recommendations from the Orange County Board of Health. A <br /> Steering Committee with representatives from the orange County Health <br /> Department, UNC Hospitals and UNC School of Public Health has organized- <br /> the work of the task force. After an introductory meeting of the task <br /> force in October, 1995, the parties to the Steering Committee jointly <br /> funded a contract with the School of Public Health to carry out a <br /> community health assessment .
