<br />Thereupon Commissioner Wilson introduced the following resolution,
<br />which visa read:
<br />RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THE STATEMENT OF
<br />THE RESULT OF THE SPECIAL BOND ELECTION HELD NOVEMBER 22, 1949-
<br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange:
<br />Section 1. That the Board of Commissioners has prepered and does
<br />adopt the following statement of the result of the special bond election held
<br />in the County of Orange on November 22, 1949:
<br />STATEMENT OF
<br />RESULT OF SPECIAL BOND ELECTION
<br />held in the
<br />COUNTY OF ORANGE, NORTH CAROLINA
<br />on NOVEMBER 22, 1949
<br />At a special bond election held throughout Orange County, North Caro-
<br />line, on November 22, 1949, 11,278 voters were registered and qualified to vote.
<br />3,621 votes were cast for the order authorizing not exceeding
<br />S1,000,000 School Building Bonds of Orange County for the purpose of providing
<br />funds, with other funds available for such purpose, for erecting additional
<br />school buildings, remodeling and enlarging existing school buildings and ac-
<br />quiring any necessary land and equipment therefor, and a tax for said bonds, and
<br />1,159 votes were cast against said order, and that a majority of the qualified
<br />voters of said County voting thereon at said election voted in favor of said
<br />order, and that said order was thereby approved and is in force and effect.
<br />3,293 votes were cast for the order authorizing not exceeding $250,000
<br />Courthouse Bonds of Orange County for the purpose of providing funds for erect-
<br />ing and equipping a new courthouse upon the site now owned by said County near
<br />the present courthouse, and a tax for said bonds, and 1,322 votes were cast
<br />against said order, and that a majority of the qualified voters of said County
<br />voting thereon at said election voted in favor of said order, and that said orde
<br />was thereby approved and is in force and effect.
<br />This statement is given by the order of the Board of Commissioners for
<br />the County of Orange, tbis 25th day of November, 1949,

<br />Section 2. That when the foregoing statement shall have been signed
<br />a majority of the members of this Board and delivered to the Clerk, the latte:
<br />11 record it in the minutes of the Board, and such statement shall be filed
<br />the office of said Clerk and published by said Clerk once in The News of
<br />nge County, a newspaper published in Orange County. A notice substantially '..
<br />the following form, with the printed signature of the Clerk appended thereto,
<br />11 be published with the foregoing statement:
<br />ITO THE CITIZENS AND TAXPAYERS OF ORANGE COUNTY:
<br />No right of action or defense founded upon the invalidity of the elec-
<br />tion mentioned in the foregoing statement shall be asserted, nor shall the vali-
<br />dity of such election be open to question in any court upon any ground whatever,
<br />except in an action or proceeding commenced within thirty days after the publi-
<br />cation of the foregoing statement.

<br />Upon motion of Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Laws, the
<br />!! foregoing resolution entitled: "RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THE

<br />l passed by the following vote:

<br />Several bids were submitted on a standard electric range for the Jail.
<br />r checking these bids, it was found that Forrest & Forrest of Efland, N. C.,
<br />the low bidder, offering a standard Crosley range for $148.50.
