STATUS <br /> Since February 1996 the staffs of the local governments have <br /> • ensured that school systems and local governments adopted a resolution <br /> supporting the concept of joint use, site, location and management of <br /> recreation and parks facilities among local government agencies in Orange <br /> County (resolutions are attached). <br /> • met with a representative from the Institute of Government to discuss the <br /> opportunities for joint planning, use and management of recreation <br /> facilities and services among municipalities, county and school system. <br /> • reviewed management and joint use agreements between other municipal <br /> and county governments in the state. <br /> • discussed development of a report to include common interests of local <br /> school systems and local governments in Orange County regarding joint <br /> capital planning for parks, use of existing facilities, and coordination of <br /> recreation services. The report is scheduled to completed by May 1, 1997. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive the report as <br /> information and provide comments or directions to staff. <br />
