10 <br /> Chronic <br /> Illness <br /> Fast Facts <br /> • In Orange County, 5 of the 10 leading causes of death are chronic <br /> diseases; cancer, heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, chronic <br /> obstructive pulmonary diseases, and diabetes. <br /> • Orange County's total cancer incidence rate surpasses the state. <br /> Meanwhile, the Orange County cancer death rates is lower than the <br /> North Carolina average. <br /> • Lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer-related death in <br /> Orange County.
