:-4-:47 18: i= SO'-': Hkii;GER <br /> 3 <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> :RESOLUTION OF THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD 017 EDUCATION OF <br /> SUPPORT OF TIM CONCEPT OF JOINT USE, SITE, LOCATION AND <br /> MANAGEXENT OF RECREATION AND PARKS FACILITIES AMONG LOCAL <br /> GOVMU;XM AGENCIES IN ORANGE COUN'T'Y_ <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange County Assembly of Governments <br /> has recommended to the staffs for the governments of the Towns <br /> of Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough and Orange County that <br /> they make recommendations to their respective governing bodies <br /> about opportunities for joint planning for use of capital <br /> improvements for recreation and park services; <br /> AND, WHEREAS, the Orange County Assembly of <br /> Governments has requested that representatives of the Orange <br /> County Board of Education and the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City <br /> Board of Education be involved in the recommendations , <br /> AND, WHEREAS, a work group was formed and presented <br /> its report to the Assembly of Governments on January 20, 1996; <br /> AND, WHEREAS, the orange County Board of Education <br /> supports the concept that the education of all children <br /> requires adequate facilities for physical education and for <br /> participation by students in team and individual sports; <br /> AND, WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Education <br /> recognizes that providing such adequate facilities for these <br /> services requires substantial expenditures of capital ; <br /> AM, WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Education <br /> supports the concept as stated in the report of the work group <br /> that the various Recreation and Parks Departments and the <br /> Orange County School System and the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City <br /> School System work together to provide more and adequate, cost <br /> effective facilities for all entities; <br /> NOW, TZEREFORN, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orange <br /> County Board of Education does accept and support the concept <br /> of joint use, site location and management of recreation and <br /> parks facilities at future school sites among the local <br /> government agencies serving Orange County. <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF EDU <br /> '*TION <br /> By: <br /> CHAIRMAN <br /> ATTEST:L4L. <br /> SECRETARY <br /> ocbVts&*1 <br /> TOTAL P.02 <br />
