The amendment would also make golf courses a <br /> Class A Special Use rather than a permitted use in residential zoning <br /> districts, and would prohibit golf courses in commercial and industrial <br /> districts and in critical areas of protected watersheds. <br /> • Re-approval of Special Uses <br /> The proposed amendment would allow Special Use Permits which are <br /> subject to time limits to be re-approved by the original approving Board <br /> after receiving a report by the Planning Department that the Special Use <br /> has maintained compliance with provisions of the Special Use Permit. <br /> SPECIAL USE PERMITS <br /> • SUP(A)-1-97 The Inn at Bingham School(Bed and Breakfast) <br /> Renewal of a Class A Special Use Permit for Non-residential Reuse of a <br /> Historic Structure located in Bingham Township at the intersection of NC <br /> Highway 54 West and Mebane Oaks Road. <br /> • SUP(A)-2-97 The Old Place(Bed and Breakfast) <br /> Renewal of a Class A Special Use Permit for Non-residential Reuse of a <br /> Historic Structure located in Cheeks Township west of Saddle Club Road. <br /> • SUP(A)-3-97 Orange Regional Landfill <br /> The proposed Class A Special Use Permit would allow construction of a <br /> 4,000 square-foot vehicle maintenance building, and the processing of yard <br /> waste, storm debris and recyclable materials. The 12.76-acre parcel <br /> (Johnson Tract) is located on the north side of Eubanks Road immediately <br /> west of the existing landfill. <br /> • PD-1 -97 Carolina Friends School <br /> Modification of the existing Class A Special Use Permit/Planned <br /> Development for an existing private school in the Rural Buffer to change the <br /> boundaries of the property. Total acreage will remain the same. No new <br /> facilities are proposed. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends approval of the attached advertisement <br /> for the February 24, 1997 quarterly public hearing. <br />
