14 4 SAMPLE PROJECTS The following are some examples of recently funded HPF projects: * Update 1980s architectural survey to meet goals of planned preservation strategy. Project will include resurveying 125 surveyed properties, adding new surveyed properties, and revising existing files. ($6,000 grant) * Underwater archaeological survey for abandoned shipwrecks associated with a riverfront city. Known wrecks and wrecks identified during the survey will be documented to assess National Register eligibility. ($6,000 grant), * Preparation of National Register nominations for nine important buildings associated with local African American history, including churches, commercial buildings, apartment buildings, and a private residence. ($2,500 grant) * Stabilization and repair of courthouse roof system, including gutters and drainage, to ensure that deterioration will not accelerate while necessary funds are being raised to continue the restoration.
