The clerk visa thereupon directed to publish each of said orders in The New! <br />of Orange County, once in each of two succesaive weeks, and to publish at the <br />foot of each of said orders the appended note as required by The County Finance <br />Act, as amended. <br />Thereupon Commissioner Laws introduced the following resolution, which was <br />read: <br />RESOLUTION CALLING A S ?ECIAL <br />BOND ELECTION <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange: <br />Section 1. That a soeclal bond election is hereby called to be held on <br />Tuesday, November 22, 1949, between 6:30 A.M. and 6:30 P.?a., Eastern Standard <br />Time, at which there shall be submitted to the qualified voters of Orange Cou <br />the following questions: <br />1. Shall an order finally passed October 17, 1949s <br />authorizing not exceeding $1,000,000 School <br />Building Bonds of Orange County.for the purpose <br />of providing funds, with other funds available <br />for such purpose, for erecting additional school <br />buildings, remodeling and enlarging existing <br />school buildings and acquiring any necessary <br />land and equipment therefor, and a tax for said <br />bonds, be approved? <br />2. Shall an order finally passed October 17, 1949, <br />authorizing'not exceeding 5250,000 Courthouse <br />Bonds of Orange County for the purpose of pro- <br />viding funds for erecting and equipping a new <br />courthouse upon the site now owned by said <br />County near the present courthouse, and a tax <br />for said bonds, be approved? <br />Section 2. That for said election the regular registration books for <br />elections in said County shall be used and such books shell be open for the <br />registration of voters, not theretofore registered, from 9 A.M., until sunset <br />on each day', beginning Saturday, October 29, 1949, and closing Saturday, Novem- <br />ber 12, 1949. On each Saturday during such registration period such books <br />shall be open at the polling places. Saturday, November 19, 1949, shall be <br />Challenge Day. <br />Section 3. That the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners shall cause a no- <br />tice to be published in The News of Orange County, not later than October 20, <br />1949, and thereafter twice before the election at intervals of at least one <br />week between publications, reading substantially as follows: <br />NOTICE OF SPECIAL BOND ELECTION <br />and <br />SUPPLMNKNTAL REGISTRATION <br />in the <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE, NORTH CAROLINA <br />A special bond election will be .held throughout Orange County between 6:30 <br />A.M. and 6:30 P.M-, Eastern Standard Time, on Tuesday, November 22, 1949, at <br />which there will be submitted to the qualified voters of said County the follow <br />ing questions: <br />1. .Shall an order finally passed October 17, 1949, <br />authorizing not exceeding $1,000,000 School <br />Building Bonds of Orange County for the purpose <br />of providing funds, with other funds available <br />for such purpose, for erecting additional school <br />buildings, remodeling and enlarging existing <br />school buildings and acquiring any necessary land <br />and equipment therefor, and a tax for said bonds, <br />be approved? <br />2. Shall an order finally passed October 17, 1949, <br />authorizing not exceeding $250,000 Courthouse <br />Bonds of Orange County for the purpose of provid- <br />ing funds for erecting and equipping a new <br />courthouse upon the site now owned by said County <br />near the present courthouse, and a tax for said <br />bonds, be approved? <br />The order referred to in question numbered 1 above authorizes School Build <br />ing Bonds of Orange County in an agrregate principal amount not exceeding <br />$1,000,000 for the purpose of providing funds, with other funds available for <br />such purpose, for erecting additional school buildings, remodeling and enlargin <br />existing school buildings and acquiring any necessary land and equipment there- <br />for in order to maintain the six months' school term in Orange County as re- <br />quired by the Constitution and briefly described as follows, subject to such <br />
