Regional Partnership Workforce Development Board 2011-2012 Annual <br /> Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Report <br /> The Board received a presentation on the Regional Partnership Workforce <br /> Development Board (WDB) 2011-2012 Annual Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Report. <br /> Anne Lenhardt serves on the WDB, and spoke regarding the annual report being <br /> presented to the Board. She highlighted the accomplishments of the WDB for Orange County. <br /> She said people in Orange County working with the unemployed to help find jobs have <br /> met some successes, specifically through JOCCA. She said 38 participants successfully <br /> completed the workforce investment program and 73 participants were enrolled in the <br /> dislocated adult worker program. She said 2 individuals completed the on the job training <br /> program and were hired by the employers providing the training. <br /> She noted that the unemployment rate in N.C. is still high, at 9.2%, and the WDB <br /> thanked the Board for their support. <br /> 5.
