districts need clarification. <br /> (A) Attachments - Page 1 <br /> The four attachments on page 1 reference the fire districts as follows: <br /> Attachment 1 - Resolution to Establish the South Orange Fire Service District and Map <br /> Attachment 2 - Resolution to Establish the Greater Chapel Hill Fire Service District and Map <br /> Attachment 3 - Resolution to Establish the Southern Triangle Fire Service District and Map <br /> Attachment 4 - New North Chatham Fire Insurance District <br /> After reading this, one would expect to see three fire service district maps, followed by one fire <br /> insurance district map. However, that does not appear to be the case for Attachment 1 and <br /> Attachment 2, when one reads the information from the agenda materials, summarized below. <br /> (B) Maps and Resolutions - Pages 6 -12 <br /> Pages 6 and 7 - Resolution Establishing the South Orange Fire Service District (page 6) and <br /> the map of the New South Orange Fire Insurance District (page 7). <br /> Page 8 and 9 - Resolution Establishing the Greater Chapel Hill Fire Service District (page 8) <br /> and the map of the Greater Chapel Hill Fire Insurance District (page 9). <br /> Page 10 and 11 - Resolution Establishing the Southern Triangle Fire Service District and the <br /> map of the New Southern Triangle Fire Service District <br /> Page 12 - Map of the New North Chatham Fire Insurance District <br /> (II) BACKGROUND - Pages 2 - 4 of the agenda abstract <br /> Page 2 - South Orange Fire Service District <br /> First paragraph - It is not clear why Attachment 2 (Greater Chapel Hill Fire Service District) is <br /> referenced. Also, the text says that Attachment 1 is a map of the proposed new South Orange <br /> Fire Service District, but actually it is a map of the New South Orange Fire Insurance District. <br /> Pages 2 and 3 - Southern Triangle Fire Service District <br /> Last paragraph on page 2 (which continues to the top of page 3) - The text refers to "the area <br /> in yellow" but it is not clear where that area might be on the maps included in the agenda <br /> materials. It is also not clear why Attachment 2 is referenced at the top of page 3. <br /> Second full paragraph on page 3 (which is also the last paragraph for this fire district) - <br /> The New Southern Triangle Fire Service is not the same as the New North Chatham Fire <br /> Insurance District because the latter includes the Damascus fire district. My question here is <br /> what is the status of the Damascus fire district? Is it still a fire protection district? <br /> Pages 3 and 4 - Greater Chapel Hill Fire Service District <br /> First paragraph - It is not clear why the following statement is made: <br /> "...the net impact for the new North Chatham Fire Insurance District is a revenue increase of <br /> $276,025 from $1,706 to $277,731." <br /> Page 4 - "Listed below are actions that need to be taken before three (3) new Fire Service <br />
